Hello Everyone!  Now that tax season has come to an end, I’m able to jump back into my blog.  I’ve been storing up lots of ideas over the past few months and can’t wait to share them all with you!   One thing I have been thinking about a lot over the past few weeks are the baby products that I absolutely cannot live without.  I continue to purchase them over and over, and don’t see an end to that any time soon.  Please share this with anyone you know expecting a baby or with small kiddos!

As I’ve shared before, it is very important to me to use non-toxic products on my children.  I encourage you all to do some research on some of the leading baby product brands out there.  There is an amazing app out there called Think Dirty.  Download it and start scanning the products that you are using on your kids (and yourself for that matter) and I guarantee you will be quite shocked.  Now on to my favorites!

#1 Honest Company Healing Balm

This stuff is hands-down my favorite baby product of all time.  You can use it for ANYTHING.  Diaper rash, cuts, scrapes, bug bites, eczema, dry skin, chapped skin, or any type of skin irritation at all.   With my daughter, I mainly use it as diaper rash cream.  But it’s not just for the kids, it’s great for adults too!  I used it on a scratch on my face, after my cat decided to use my face as a launching pad to get to the top of the headboard one morning while sleeping.   I immediately applied this stuff and the scratch never swelled or turned red.  My husband has used it on his hands when they get super dry and cracked.  My son gets some eczema patches on his torso and this stuff works great.  I’m telling you it’s a miracle.  Just go get it.  Honest Company products can be ordered directly from their website (can be bundled to save money) or they are also sold at Target, CVS, and some health food chains.

#2 Young Living SniffleEase Oil

My daughter has some chronic respiratory issues due to aspiration that was discovered just after she turned one.   As a result, colds and viruses tend to go straight to her chest and she has some serious trouble breathing.   This kid-safe essential oil blend works great to support healthy respiratory function and help to open the airways.   I put a roller ball top on the bottle and apply directly to her chest.   I wouldn’t recommend applying to the chest for a baby younger than one.  For a younger baby, I would either apply to the bottoms of the feet or diffuse one or two drops in a diffuser in their room.   Young Living actually has an entire kids oils and personal care products line called KidScents that are all pre-diluted and safe for little ones.  So far, Sniffle Ease is the only one that I have tried, but there are several more on my list to get (TummyGize and Owie are next).  Check out their entire Kid Care line here: https://www.youngliving.com/en_US/products/beauty/kids-care

#3 Honest Company Shampoo/Body Wash and Bubble Bath

If your kid wants some SERIOUS bubble action in the tub, a little dab of the bubble bath will do ya!  Seriously, this stuff bubbles like you wouldn’t believe, smells light and fresh (I have the apricot scent) and is totally safe.   The shampoo/body wash comes in two scents and both are fantastic.  They suds up just as well as other chemical-filled shampoos, without all the poo….  Just in case you need some encouragement, don’t forget to download the Think Dirty app and scan your current shampoo.

#4 The Nose Frida

Let’s get real……when it comes to sucking snot, there’s just nothing better out there than the Nose Frida.  Does it seem gross at first?…Yes.  Did I maybe gag the first time I tried it??…also yes.  But, after a couple of times I was totally over it and it was totally worth it.  Forget those nasty nasal bulbs that stab your kid in the nose while also collecting ick on the inside that is impossible to clean, risking that you blow that same ick back into their noses again next time you use it.  The Nose Frida is safe and EFFECTIVE and WILL NOT get anywhere near your mouth.  I promise.  One little tip, it helps to use some saline spray about a minute before you use it to help get everything moving.
